Reynolds and colleagues later reported in Nature Communications that it behaves as an exercise-responsive regulator of muscle homeostasis, again principally in rodent work. The only human clinical programme was CB4211, a MOTS-c analogue rather than MOTS-c itself, which completed a Phase 1a/1b study of 88 participants (NCT03998514) in April 2021 before the sponsor wound down. There is no Phase 3 and no large human efficacy trial.

That grading is the reason to keep the two questions separate. Verification narrows what you might be holding; it cannot promote preclinical evidence into clinical evidence.
