The two published certificates cover different lots and disagree on fill: Kovera Labs assays batch 55-05260628 at 11.41 mg, MZ Biolabs assays lot 55-01260229 at 8.30 mg, both against a 10 mg label, moving the real figure between $5.87/mg and $8.07/mg. Endotoxin and sterility screens appear on the Kovera lot only, so testing scope here is a batch property rather than a product feature. Why purity does not rescue the calculation

A reasonable objection is that purity should correct the figure: if a vial is 99% pure, surely the mass is nearly all peptide.

That reasoning conflates two independent measurements. Purity describes what fraction of the material present is the target compound. Net content describes how much material is present at all. A vial containing 8.30 mg of 99.97% pure peptide contains 8.30 mg of peptide, not 10 mg.

Both published batches scored above 99% on purity. Purity was never the variable. Fill was, and fill is what per-milligram cost depends on.

What a quantitative assay actually involves

Net content is not read off a balance. It is determined by quantitative assay: the sample is dissolved, separated by HPLC, and the peak area compared against a reference standard of known concentration.

That method has its own uncertainty, and a certificate reporting 11.41 mg is reporting a measurement with a confidence interval rather than an exact count of molecules. The point is not that either figure is precisely right, but that both are measurements and the label is not.

MZ Biolabs reported its analysis as HPLC-UV-MS, combining separation, ultraviolet quantification and mass identification in one workflow. Kovera reported purity, net content, identity by LC-MS, endotoxin and sterility as separate line items.

The pricing question this does not answer

Whether $67.00 is a reasonable price depends on what the compound is worth, and that is not a documentary question.

FOXO4-DRI has no approved indication, no established human dose and no registered clinical trial. Its efficacy evidence is entirely preclinical: mice, rats and cultured cells. A compound in that position has no established value, only a market price.

There is also a documented risk that any valuation should weigh. A 2023 study reported that clearing senescent cells could promote pulmonary hypertension development and progression, so the expected benefit is not merely unproven but plausibly signed in either direction.
